Biography

A former member of the 1960s rock/classical crossover band the New York Rock And Roll Ensemble, Michael Kamen subsequently worked predominantly in the world of film. After studying the oboe at the Juilliard School of Music, Kamen contributed some music to the offbeat rock western movie ZACHARIAH in 1971. During the '80s and '90s he scored and co-composed the music for several movies, and, with lyricists Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange, composed the phenomenally successful, Grammy-winning, "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You." He died following a heart attack in November 2003.
