Biography

Formed in 1924 as the Cardiff Station Orchestra, the ensemble solidified following World War II, when it became affiliated with the BBC. It was rebranded the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in 1993, doubling as a Welsh symphony orchestra and one of the network’s five professional radio orchestras.
