Biography
Soprano Gerlinde Sämann has a wide repertory but is especially known for her performances and recordings of Bach's music. One notable aspect of her career is that she is blind, which is more common in genres such as blues or country music than in classical. Sämann is a member of the early music group VocaMe. She has appeared on several volumes of the complete cycle of Bach's keyboard music by Benjamin Alard, including Johann Sebastian Bach: The Complete Works for Keyboard, Vol. 10 - Trio Sonatas, BWV 525-530 - Notenbüchlein für A. M. Bach in 2025; the Anna Magdalena Bach Notebook contains a variety of small vocal works, performed by Sämann.
