Irène Theorin

Iréne Theorin is a Swedish dramatic soprano celebrated for her consistent engagement with the major roles of Wagner and Strauss. Her warm, round tone, brilliant high notes, and ability to maintain a consistent timbre across dynamic levels have earned particular praise. Her core repertoire includes Brünnhilde, Isolde, and Kundry in Wagner and Elektra and Salome in Strauss, alongside roles such as Elisabetta in Verdi's Don Carlos and Judith in Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle. Her electrifying live performances have been captured on several video recordings, including Götterdämmerung (2013) and Turandot (2018).
