Estonian Festival Orchestra

Biography

Founded by conductor Paavo Järvi as the resident ensemble of the Pärnu Music Festival in Estonia, the Estonian Festival Orchestra brings together musicians from Estonia and international orchestras for its festival seasons. Since 2018, the ensemble has toured across Europe, Japan, and Korea, and performed at major concert halls. Around the same period, the orchestra launched its recording journey with Alpha Classics, debuting with Shostakovich: Symphony No. 6 & Sinfonietta. By 2025, the EFO had reached another landmark with its debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, presenting a concert series devoted to the works of Arvo Pärt. This achievement was complemented by the release of its sixth studio recording, Credo.
