François Salque
Biography
Cellist François Salque has married sterling technique in the grand French tradition to innovative musical thinking. Salque studied at the prestigious Paris Conservatory and Yale University. He performed with the Ysaÿe Quartet from 2009 to 2014, appearing on seven of the quartet's albums. By the time the group disbanded, Salque had already, in 2011, launched his own solo career with EST (East), with accordionist Vincent Peirani, followed by Tanguillo in 2013. He also began to record traditional repertoire with pianist Eric le Sage. Salque has performed in more than 50 countries as a soloist and chamber musician, and has appeared with several top Russian and Baltic groups as well as a variety of top French symphonic ensembles. ~ James Manheim
