Janusz Wawrowski

Biography

Janusz Wawrowski is a leading figure among his generation of violinists in Poland. Charismatic and innovative, he records for the Warner Classics label and is making an impact beyond Eastern Europe as a performer. An early indicator of Wawrowski's talents came when he began to perform all of Paganini's 24 Caprices in a single concert evening. He made his recording debut with those works in 2007. An enthusiastic chamber musician, Wawrowski has an ongoing collaboration with pianist Robert Morawski and has served as the artistic director of the Music on the Heights International Chamber Music Festival. He has continued to record for Warner Classics but moved to Naxos for a 2024 recording of Valentin Silvestrov's Symphony for Violin and Orchestra ("Widmung"). He is a lecturer at the Chopin University.
