Lisa Moore
Biography
Pianist Lisa Moore is known for interpretations of a wide range of music from the early 20th century to the present day. Moore has recorded ten solo albums and some 30 collaborative releases, with music ranging from Janáçek to Steve Reich, Philip Glass, and new music. Moore has collaborated on new works with many prominent contemporary composers. Her 2016 album The Stone People, with works by John Luther Adams, Martin Bresnick, and Missy Mazzoli, among others, was typical in its range and made the New York Times' list of the top classical albums of the year. She co-founded the Bang on a Can All-Stars in 1992 and remained with the group until 2008. In 2022, Moore released a recording of Frederic Rzewski's no place to go but around.
