Evangelina Mascardi
Biography
Evangelina Mascardi is an Argentine-born lutenist, guitarist, and theorbist considered a prominent lute player on the international stage. After graduating in classical guitar in Buenos Aires and relocating to Europe in 1997, she studied with the legendary Hopkinson Smith. She has devoted herself primarily to solo lute repertoire, culminating in an ambitious 18th century trilogy: Bach (2022), Weiss (2024), and Beyond Vivaldi (2026), which resuscitates neglected lute concertos from the Habsburg court world.
