La Capella Nacional de Catalunya

An offshoot of the choir La Capella Reial de Catalunya, La Capella Nacional de Catalunya is a larger group suited to the performance of Classical-era and Romantic music. The group made its debut on conductor Jordi Savall's recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. In 2020 and 2021, as Jordi Savall prepared a new recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 ("Choral"), he added a new ensemble to his stable of performers: La Capella Nacional de Catalunya. La Capella Nacional de Catalunya made its featured-artist debut in 2023 on a recording of Mozart's Requiem in D minor, K. 626.
