The Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra is one of several top-flight ensembles connected with the Boston Early Music Festival, one of the leading events in North America promoting historically oriented music. The group participates in the biennial festival performances, many of which have the goal of attracting attention to lesser-known operas of the Baroque era. The Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra has also appeared in recordings unconnected with its namesake festival, including several by internationally prominent vocal soloists and conductors. In 2025, the group backed soprano Amanda Forsythe on the CPO-label album Georg Philipp Telemann: Ino - Opera Arias for Soprano.
