Yang Bao

Multi-dimensional artist Yang Bao is active as a pianist, composer, and sound sculptor, as well as a painter, photographer, and filmmaker. As his career blossomed, he has interwoven these disciplines. While at the New England Conservatory of Music, he began venturing beyond the piano, making the film DUALISM, which featured violinist Jennifer Koh and the Curtis 20/21 Ensemble performing Kaija Saariaho's Graal théâtre in 2018. Bao issued a recording of his work MOTION in 2020, playing piano with cellist Oliver Herbert. In 2024, Bao and his partner Wa Liu were sponsored by the international fashion brand Dior to create the multimedia exhibition "MADLANDS" at the Long Museum in Shanghai. Bao also established the permanent outdoor sound sculpture "HYPERSPACE" at the Donum Estate in Sonoma, California, in 2024.
