In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory was listening to an old cassette-tape of Arthur Rubinstein playing Chopin favourites as a young girl. The beauty and magic of these notes made me fall in love with music and want to study the piano myself. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alfred Cortot, Alfred Cortot plays Chopin: Nocturnes, Preludes, Waltzes, Etudes, Ballades, Impromptus .. (Remastered 2017) Alfred Cortot, Master Classes from the École Normale: Alfred Cortot Pnina Salzman, Pnina Salzman, Vol. 1 These albums feature some of the greatest recordings of my musical ancestors, my late teacher Pnina Salzman, and her own legendary mentor Alfred Cortot. Their unique musical interpretaitions encapsulate poetry, romance, vivid imagintion and humanity. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nocturne No. 13 in C Minor, Op. 48 No. 1” This Nocturne is especially meaningful to me. It is one of Chopin's most profound expressions of sorrow, and I feel as though each note is carved from my own heart, expressing the loss, longing, insuromountable love and wishes to meet again. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing Chopin's E minor Concerto with orchestra in a concert honouring my late teacher, pianist Pnina Salzman. This was her favourite concerto (and mine) and she refused to teach it to anyone, but she did teach it to me in her final years. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Oh, so much... many more masterpieces that I'd love to learn, perform, and record (I have an actual list!), collaborations with other musicians in chamber music and as a soloist with orchestras, honing my art as a performer, and possibly composing...
