Roberta Alexander

Roberta Alexander established herself as one of the leading American sopranos in the last quarter of the 20th century, both on the operatic stage and as an orchestral soloist. She recorded with several major labels, including BMG, Phillips, Sony, and Teldec, and remained an active performer into the 2010s. She was known for her Mozart roles, but sang a broad repertoire of opera, including Prokofiev and Janacek, and art songs by Mahler, Ives, Bernstein, and many others.
