Biography

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I've been playing the piano since I was 5 years old. My mother was a pianist, and I remember being so inspired by her playing, running to the piano whenever and being mesmerised by this huge instrument capable of such incredible sound. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Five Spikelets” I love this song, taken from my second collaboration with Ukrainian composer and violinist Natalia Tsupryk. The sparse haunting opening gives way to one of my favourite piano melodies, looping in a hypnotic trance of keys and strings. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I love writing scores and collaborating with other artists. One of my proudest achievements is the score to the theatre show Summer and Smoke, which featured 9 onstage upright pianos performed by the cast. It was otherworldly and magical.
