Sarah Rothenberg is an American pianist and artistic director celebrated for her interdisciplinary performances of contemporary music. As Artistic Director of DACAMERA in Houston since 1994, she has become one of the most adventurous and intellectually focused figures in American classical music. Committed to both neglected repertoire and new music, she has performed over 85 premieres, with a particular focus on late Romantic, early Modernist, and contemporary works. Her recordings reflect this range. She took part in the world premiere of Tyshawn Sorey's Monochromatic Light (Afterlife) at Rothko Chapel and played on the 2026 recording of the same piece.
