Trio Palladio
Biography
Trio Palladio is a Latvian piano trio whose conceptual programs mix 19th century favorites with contemporary works, especially those by Latvian and Baltic composers. Violinist Eva Bindere, cellist Kristina Blaumane, and pianist Reinis Zariņš formed the trio in 2015, which is named after the architect Andrea Palladio. The ensemble held its first residency at Cesis Concert Hall in 2018 and won Latvia's Grand Music Award for Ensemble of the Year in 2024. The trio's first album, Peteris Vasks: Works for Piano Trio (2020), including Episodi e canto perpetuo, was a Gramophone Editor's Choice. Arvo Pärt: Arefa - Piano Chamber Works (2026) contained solo pieces played by Zariņš as well as works for the full trio, and it included premiere recordings of tributes to Pärt by Georgs Pelecis and Andrejs Selickis.
